Rental Property – big demand?

For those of you that are looking for last weeks sales numbers, I am working on those and should have them out later this evening.  For those that are interested in the demand for rental property read on.

Over the last couple weeks I have had a lot of calls with people looking for rentals.  I don’t know how the trend is in other areas but we seem to be having a increase in demand in my market and surrounding areas.  For those that don’t already know… I work out of Danville Indiana we also cover Avon, Coatesville (including Heritage Lake), Amo, North Salem, Pittsboro, Brownsburg, etc., Basically the western portion of metro Indianapolis market. 

I was just reviewing my website stats and studying where the visitors are going on-line and I was surprised to find that over half of my views so far this month were on properties for rent.  Anyone else out there noticing the change in on-line habits?  We used to have the highest % viewing properties for sale, after all that is our main business.  It seems to be swinging quickly to people looking for single family residences to rent.  This could be some of the fall out from the mortgage mess and tighter lending standards or it could be people are wanting to wait out the market a little bit longer before committing to a long term investment in home ownership.  Time will tell and we will be here bring you the results.  Let me know your thoughts.

Over all it looks like a great time for the investor who holds rental property.  Prices are great and demand seems to be good for nice rental homes in the area.
